H&M clothing company has opened its first store in Tokyo, Japan on the 14th of September 2008 and has plans to expand by opening 3 more shortly and slowly develop further into the Japanese market. The company arranged a vast advertising compain before opening, the Ginza subway station was decorated with posters of H&M clothing. The most trendy shopping area of Tokyo as Ginza has now acquired an H&M clothing boutique and it will be soon followed by Harajuku and Shibuya - Tokyo's most popular shopping districts. |

There are plans to see how the first 3 H&M clothing stores do in Tokyo and then after a year make the second step in Japan as stated by H&M's chief executive Rolf Eriksen.
